Purple Heart Day is a time to honor and remember the brave men and women of the U.S. military who were wounded or made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. First established by George Washington in 1782 as the Badge of Military Merit, the modern Purple Heart medal recognizes the courage and dedication of those injured or lost in combat.
We will be making cards to send to the Purple Heart Foundation to express our deepest gratitude and respect to our nation’s heroes. Their strength, resilience, and commitment will never be forgotten.
